‘The Game’ May Return With New Season on BET

Mara Brock Akil’s hit show “The Game” may be getting another shot at prime time. The comedy, a spin-off from Akil’s cult classic show “Girlfriends,” was cancelled last May, only after three seasons on the CW. Now, BET is in serious talks to revive it by ordering a new season of original episodes (the network currently airs repeats of both “Game” and “Girlfriends”). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the options on the “Game” actors have ended, which means the cable network would have to make new pacts with them.
