TV and film stars Tika Sumpter and Garcelle Beauvais were spotted making their fabulous promo rounds in New York City recently.  Find out what the actresses are promoting inside....

Tika Sumpter was spotted heading into MTV Studios in Times Square yesterday.  And loking her usual super cute self in short cutoff shorts, a fringed vest and platform strappy shoes.

Tika, who's starring in the new OWN series "The Haves and The Have Nots", was busy promoting the scripted hit.  It's also scored stellar ratings for the network.

Tika will also be starring in the BET series "Being Mary Jane" with Gabrielle Union and making an appearance in the upcoming film Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas.  Loves this chick....and this look.

Garcelle Beauvais was seen walking into a taping of "The Wendy Williams Show" rocking all white with pink studded Valentino shoes.

The mom of three was there to promote her starring role in the Jamie Foxx-led action flick White House Down.

And in addition to an appearance on "Psych", Garcelle also makes a big cameo on the Netflix revamp of "Arrested Development" this season.  Looks like she won't be returning to "Franklin & Bash" though, unfortunately.

Her "Wendy" segment aired this morning and Garcelle explained how different her twin boys', Jax & Jaid, personalities are.  One is a momma's boy (the one with blonde hair) and one is more about his dad and less affectionate.

P.S.  She also dished about that cheating drama with her ex-husband.  And she said she found out he was cheating--with a woman in Chicago for the last 5 years--thanks to a text message she saw on his phone when she accidentally used it to call his mom.  Chile...

Awwwwww the whole family came out!!! Will and Jaden Smith celebrated the NY premiere of their new film “After Earth” with family and friends including Will’s ex-wife Sheree Fletcher and his former “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” castmates.

What’s the best way to shut up your so-called ‘haters’?  By not listening to them and keep on doing your thing.  Tyler Perry is letting his paychecks do the talking, as he brings yet another television show to the small screen. The Haves And The Have Nots is his latest creation on the OWN channel, thanks to friend Oprah Winfrey.  The Wrap is reporting that the series debut show had 1.7 million viewers.  The second part of the two hour series premiere brought in even more viewers, with 1.8 million viewers.

“The Have and the Have Nots” is a modern day upstairs-downstairs drama that takes place in Savannah, Ga. It stars John Schneider, Tika Sumpter, Aaron O’Connell and Angela Robinson, among others.

I know Tyler Perry gets a lot of backlash for his movies and shows but you got to admire a man who’s figured out his successful demographic and who’s working it.  Tyler also has another show that will be premiering tonight on OWN; a comedy show called Love Thy Neighbor.  Get that money, yo! Tyler Perry is coming to OWN with two brand new shows! And there’s no better way to kick it off than with a new Oprah’s Next Chapter featuring Tyler Perry on Sunday May 26th 9/8c.

Then on Tuesday May 28th 9/8c, it’s the premiere of Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots on OWN.

From writer and director Tyler Perry, this new television series follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryer’s are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil, the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status.

Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace (Tika Sumpter), with the power to ruin the entire family. Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family.

I don’t know about you but it seems like a lot of people have been in the studio and are releasing music this year.  As long as it’s good, I don’t mind it at all.  One album release date that’s approaching quickly is Kelly Rowland‘s Talk A Good Game.  The album is set to be released on June 18th and Kelly unveiled the cover photo on her website.

The thirst is strong. Keri Hilson celebrated her birthday last night with a dinner at STK in Atlanta followed by a night out at Vanquish nightclub. She was joined by her sister Kaycee, her parents and friends including B.O.B., Dania Ramirez and Tika Sumpter and Wale, who looked like he was slangin’ Nigerian schlong Tika’s way.
