By Maurice Bobb

Lately, every little step Bobby Brown takes ends badly. According to the LAPD, the “My Prerogative” singer was arrested early this morning in Los Angeles for driving under the influence. “Bobby Brown was arrested and charged with DUI at 1 a.m. this morning,” Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Venus Hall told RapFix.“He was pulled over at the intersection of Corbin Avenue and Venture Blvd. He has since been released on his own recognizance.”

Police are not releasing information as to why the 43-year old R&B icon was pulled over, although it has been reported by TMZ that he was weaving between lanes in his car, prompting a police cruiser to pull him over for suspected DUI. After detecting a strong odor of alcohol, officers administered a field sobriety test and arrested the former member of New Edition after he failed.

Brown was previously arrested for DUI in the San Fernando Valley back in March. That arrest came just four days after the Los Angeles County Coroner's office released the results of its autopsy of ex-wife Whitney Houston. The singer plead no contest to a lesser misdemeanor DUI charge in April and was placed on probation for three years and went to a alcohol abuse treatment center over the summer.

Tony Scott

New information has been revealed about what may have motivated director Tony Scott’s decision to leap from a Los Angeles bridge:

Tony Scott, director of “Top Gun,” “Days of Thunder” and “Crimson Tide,” had inoperable brain cancer, a source close to him told ABC News.

The famed director died Sunday after jumping from a bridge in Los Angeles, authorities said.

Police said they received a 911 call at about 12:30 p.m. that an individual had jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge. The body was recovered around 3 p.m., when it was identified by authorities as Scott, according to Lt. Joseph Bale of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today.

The Coroner’s Office found several notes to loved ones in Scott’s car, a spokesman told The Associated Press. A suicide note was later found at his office, according to the AP.

“I can confirm that Tony Scott has passed away. The family asks that their privacy is respected at this time,” Scott’s spokesman, Simon Halls, said in a statement, according to the AP.

Scott was the younger brother of producer and director Ridley Scott. Together, the brothers formed their own production company, Scott Free Productions. Their company produced the CBS dramas “NUMB3RS” and “The Good Wife.”The 2012 blockbuster “Prometheus” was the latest film released by their production company.

Other Tony Scott films include “True Romance,” written by Quentin Tarantino, “The Fan,” with Robert De Niro, and “Enemy of the State,” starring Will Smith.

In a tweet Sunday, director Ron Howard said, “No more Tony Scott movies. Tragic day.”

“Most of the obits for Tony Scott will mention “Top Gun” first, but my favorite will always be “True Romance.” RIP,” tweeted film critic Richard Roeper.

This story is so sad. Tony Scott will definitely be missed.

If you were suffering from terminal cancer, would you ever consider taking your own life?

Los Angeles police are investigating a pair of lungs found on a sidewalk

Is this the work of another bath salt zombie??

L.A. Cops Investigate Lungs Found On Sidewalk

Authorities are investigating what appear to be a pair of lungs found on a sidewalk in South Los Angeles.

A woman called to report finding what she believed to be the organs at 8:30 p.m. (11:30 p.m. ET) Sunday in the 13100 block of Avalon Boulevard.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, and the coroner’s office was also called.

Additional testing will determine if the remains are in fact lungs and whether they are human, police said.

Sgt. Robert Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, told the Los Angeles Times: “We don’t know what they are. It’s really weird.”

Ed Winter, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, told the newspaper the possible organs were not attached to a body, and he found the situation “a little strange.” He said it was unclear when the examination would be performed.

We get the feeling that the explanation for this is ain’t gonna be good…

120215010826 whitney houston 2009 american music awards story top Whitney Houston Cause of Death: Accidental Drowning In Bathtub But...

Whitney Houston died from an accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub, but the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” were contributing factors in her death, the Los Angeles County Coroner said in an initial autopsy report released Thursday.

Houston, 48, was “found submerged in bathtub filled with water” and “no trauma or foul play is suspected,” the coroner said.

The toxicology tests found other drugs in her body, including marijuana, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, the muscle relaxant Flexeril and the allergy medicine Benadryl, the report said. But these drugs “did not contribute to the death,” it said.

The one-page report released Thursday did not disclose the levels of each drug, but that information will be included in the final coroner report to be made public within two weeks, the coroner said.

Houston’s family, which had been informed of the findings before Thursday’s release, issued a statement through a family spokeswoman.

“We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure,” said Patricia Houston, the singer’s sister-in-law and former manager.

Heavy D

Relatives of Heavy D say he visited a doctor the day before he passed away.

Rap legend Heavy D knew something was seriously wrong with his health the day before he suddenly collapsed and died Tuesday, officials told the Daily News.

“He had gone to the doctor the day before,” Ed Winter, Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, told the Daily News. “He had what appeared to be like flu-like symptoms.”

Investigators completed an autopsy Wednesday morning, but declined to release a preliminary cause of death, saying that toxicology tests must first be performed. The tests could take up to six weeks to complete.

“He was taking medication, so we want to see what the levels were,” Winter said.

The trailblazing, Westchester County-bred star weighed 344 pounds at the time of his death, Winter said.

“He said he had a touch of pneumonia, maybe from traveling. He just got back from England,” cousin Ruddy Phillips, 50, told The News after speaking with the entertainer’s dad in Mount Vernon, N.Y.

Heavy D, whose real name was Dwight Arrington Myers, was taken by ambulance to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday; he died 90 minutes later, police said.

He was conscious and talking, but having difficulty breathing, when officers first arrived at his home after a 911 call was made, said Lt. Mark Rosen of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The 44-year-old rapper was returning home from a shopping trip when he experienced shortness of breath and collapsed in an exterior hallway of his condo building, Rosen said.

“There doesn’t appear to be any foul play. We believe it was medically related,” Rosen said.

Born in Jamaica and raised in Mount Vernon, Heavy D rose to stardom in the 1990s as the frontman for the group Heavy D & the Boyz. He leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter, with whom he was extremely close, Phillips said.

“He was a really great dad. Everybody is wondering how she’s going to take it now that he’s gone. She loves her dad so much,” Phillips said.

“And his mother is taking it really hard. He’s the third brother in the family to die. Everybody is stunned. No one can believe it. He was so young.”

We still can’t believe he’s gone. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.

As fans around the globe mourn the death of one of the most influential and impressive music artists in Michael Jackson, the iconic singer’s tragic passing two years ago today in his Los Angeles home still resonates in the hearts of many.

With his rich musical legacy spanning over four decades, Jackson is recognized the world over as the most successful recording artist of all time. With record-shattering album sales, innovative videos and an often mimicked style of fashion, Michael’s contributions to entertainment are numerous and still heralded to this day.

When the news of Michael Jackson’s death hit the airwaves, many fans of the beloved pop star were in a state of disbelief as unconfirmed reports spread throughout cable and news networks. It was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner that Jackson’s was the cause of acute propofol intoxication after suffering cardiac arrest. His personal doctor, Conrad Murray, was subsequently charged with involuntary manslaughter after administering the medicine to Jackson. Murray’s trial is reported to start at September 8 of this year.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born in the Midwest town of Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. Joining with his brothers, Michael formed the Jackson 5 and become one of the biggest musical acts on the famous Motown label in the early 70s. Realizing his star potential, he was thrust out in the front of his talented siblings under the tutelage of his father Joe Jackson. With an angelic voice and sweet boyish features, young Michael Jackson captivated an entire nation with sheer ability. As he grew into his own, Jackson became a force of nature – especially in the late 70s.

But it was Michael Jackson’s Thriller album that most captures the beginning of the high arc of fame for the singer. Produced by the legendary Quincy Jones, the 1982 album would go on to become the greatest selling record of all time with a reported 65 to 110 million copies being sold. Jackson still continued to work with his brothers – now named The Jacksons – and become a touring and recording machine. Big budget videos and lavish tours followed, thus growing Jackson’s fame to unprecedented heights.

Hip hop fans will no doubt recognize that artists such as Nas, De La Soul, Q-Tip and Snoop Dogg have all sampled music from Jackson’s vast catalog. Producers still chop vocal samples and grooves from the deep archives of Jackson’s recorded material. Singers such as Usher and Chris Brown count Jackson as a heavy influence and it certainly shows with their acrobatic dance moves and electrifying live performances. Michael also has recorded with Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G.

Rest In Peace to the King Of Pop, one of the best artists of all times.

The King of Pop may be gone but his memory will forever live on. Case in point, recently two of Michael Jackson's three children received a pair of customized motorcycles dedicated to their legendary dad. The gifts come just days away from the late singer's second anniversary since the musical icon suddenly passed away.

Michael's children, 14-year old eldest son Prince Michael, 13-year old daughter Paris and youngest son Prince Michael II (aka Blanket) at 9, will have to wait a while before sporting the cycles, which were lovingly adorned with images of their father. A side view of the powerful looking bike shows Jackson in various poses. From front to end in every available space, Jackson's face is shown with one shot of the singer in his trademark sunglasses, while in the others the King Of Pop strikes a more regal pose.

The front view of the cycle, using the windshield visor as a canvas, shows Jackson in his younger Jackson 5 days, with a shot of the king to be sitting in what appears to be a throne. His recognizable afro marks the historic time of the photos, long before Jackson moved on to sport a longer and flowing hairstyle.

Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009 as a result of acute propofol intoxication after suffering cardiac arrest. Sketchy details regarding Jackson's death led the Los Angeles County Coroner's office to rule the passing a homicide. Jackson's personal physician, Conrad Murray, was with charged involuntary manslaughter and pleaded not guilty. The trail for Murray is scheduled to begin September 8 of this year.

Although his unfortunate passing two years ago broke hearts around the globe, Jackson's lasting legacy is cemented by not only his number of hit records and albums, but in how fans continue to adore the singer and also this honor bestowed to his progeny.

Rest in peace to the King Of Pop.

Actress and former Playboy Playmate Yvette Vickers

This is such a horrible sign of the times.

The mummified remains of the actress who played the femme fatale in Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman has been found in her rundown Beverly Hills home.

The state of the body indicates Yvette Vickers, 82, who was once a Playboy centrefold may have lain there for a year.

The badly decomposed corpse was discovered at the Californian home where Vickers had lived for decades.

For the actress whose film credits include Attack Of The Giant Leeches, the story of her final moments reads like a grisly plot from one of those films.

The grim discovery was made by neighbour Susan Savage who noticed that letters stuck in Vickers’ mail box were yellowing around the edges and that cobwebs had gathered in the doorway.

Savage had to push her way through a mountain of uncollected fanmail and boxes to find the body; a small heater was still been running next to it. At least one window was broken at the home.

‘She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a very independent spirit,’ Savage told the Los Angeles Times.

‘To the end she still got cards and letter from all over the world requesting photos and still wanting to be her friend.

‘We’ve all been crying about this. Nobody should be left alone like that.’

The official cause of death is being investigated by the Los Angeles county coroner’s office, but police are not treating the death as suspicious.

‘We don’t know if it’s a Jane Doe or a John Doe,’ Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner, told the LA Times, using the generic named applied to unidentified bodies in the U.S.

Vickers was born Yvette Vedder in Kansas City, Missouri, to jazz musicians Charles Vedder and his wife Iola. Her precise date of birth is not known and she was variously described as being either 82 or 74.

How does no one notice you’re missing for almost a full year, including your next door neighbor?
