Candice Glover is a true American Idol in my book. I heart Candice because she can SANG, but I also admire her because she NEVER gave up on her dream. Although she is the season 12 winner of American Idol, Candice Glover was rejected twice by Idol judges in the past, before finally making it onto the stage so that America could hear her voice and vote. The ending was very emotional, especially when she pointed to the heavens and dedicated her finale song to God. *fans my eyeballs* 

But her friends’ and family’s reaction to her win…PRICELESS. I just love black people and our Holy Ghost Dance of Jubilee.

I watched this whole season of American Idol because of Candice, and I haven’t done that since season one with Kelly Clarkson, and season three with Fantasia. Check out the emotional finale when you continue…

Nick Cannon is very candid about his feeling towards the manufactured beef from American Idol, and blames the producers for the reality TV like drama.  Cannon wants to set the record straight on behalf of his wife. According to Mr. Cannon, Mariah Carey signed up to be a judge on American Idol to actually mentor new singers, not for attention or the punch lines.

She comes home and just doesn’t have time for it, you know? She’s trying to be the world’s biggest superstar mom, and it’s just really one of those things where she didn’t sign up for that, and she’s like, ‘aww man, I wish that experience could be about what the show is really supposed to be about, because she really likes, loves these contestant…has a connection with her fellow singers.

After all it is a singing competition, so Nicki Minaj’s only role on the show is to stir up drama. Nicki Minaj is on her second and half album, and Mariah Carey is on her 11th, and that’s not including her Christmas albums, compilations, or soundtracks.  I mean, the soundtrack to Glitter has sold more than Nicki’s second and a half album. G-L-I-T-T-E-R! O_O

Accusations of improper booty play and harassment have put John Travolta’s personal life under the microscope and through the wringer in recent months. The star, who has long been dogged by rumors about his sexuality, is facing numerous lawsuits from men, many of them masseurs, who claim he made inappropriate passes, financial offers and other attempts to secure sexual contact with them.

Travolta, until recently, has remained silent on the charges, several weeks ago he denied one of the claims but others in Hollyweird, like Joan Rivers and Carrie Fisher, have been more than happy to sound off on the possibility that the “Saturday Night Fever” actor is gay.

Now Rashida Jones, star of “The Office” and the upcoming film “Celeste And Jesse Forever,” is joining the choir of voices who want Travolta to come out.

In a recent interview Jones, along with friend and “Celeste And Jesse Forever” co-writer Will McCormack, discusses the need for more openly gay actors before addressing Travolta:

McCormack: There needs to be, like, a professional athlete that comes out.

Jones: And a movie star! It’s time.

McCormack: Yeah, like a big one.

Jones: A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let’s do this.

Welp! Might be time for Johhny boy to come out the glitter filled man-hole of a closet after all.

Magic City Hosts Gigi's Last Dance for Gigi Maguire

Saturday was a very special night for your favorite stripper’s favorite stripper… Gigi Maguire! After working the world famous poles at Atlanta’s Magic City for six years, Gigi performed her “Last Dance” this past weekend. We’ve got lots of photos and details from her special night.

Inspired by Beyonce’s “Dance For You” video and the film Flashdance, Gigi’s performance was actually more Vegas showgirl than stripper… Her performance actually blew out the sound system at Magic, and we hear she collected an estimated $20,000 during her final show. Gigi ended her dance by pulling a sparkly star from the top of her set, causing money and glitter to cascade all over her, and the stage. When it was all over the crowd immediately cleared the club, leaving some of the other dancers upset because of the early closing.

For those of you who never made it out to Magic City to see Gigi do her thing, don’t fret. She’ll still be putting her ten years dance experience to work. Gigi is a Certified Pole Instructor and she’s leaving Magic City to run PoleFanAddicts Inc. She also teaches pole classes online.

And although Gigi is no longer performing at Magic City, she STILL tours as a featured performer.

Ice-T Talks ‘Original Gangster’ Video Concept On ‘Yo! MTV Raps’

If record label execs thought that Ice-T would clean up his act on his 1991 single “O.G. Original Gangster” they had another thing coming. The song’s iconic video starts with Ice listening to an answering machine while label higher-ups asked him to dance in his videos and incorporate glitter in his wardrobe; good luck. Ice-T will appear on “Yo! MTV Raps: Classic Cuts,” a one-time special that will examine some of raps most iconic songs and videos. While filming for the show, the rapper-turned-actor discussed the concept for his 1991 classic. “I thought that at sometimes when you’re moving too much people aren’t listening to the words,” Ice told “Yo! MTV Raps” producers. “So the concept of ‘Original Gangster’ was to put me in a room do a camera lock-off and me just rap in the room in different places.”

The no non-sense L.A. MC found inspiration in Sinead O’ Connor’s video for her 1990 Prince remake “Nothing Compares 2 U.” In O’Connor’s clip, the camera solely focuses on her, placing emphasis on the song’s lyrics and the singer’s emotion. “I just wanted to see if I can stay in a room and hold your attention throughout a video,” Ice said. “To me rap is about the words, its about the content. if its not about that then just play the beat.”
