Bo Diddley, a founding father of rock ‘n’ roll whose distinctive “shave and a haircut, two bits” rhythm and innovative guitar effects inspired legions of other musicians, died Monday after months of ill health. He was 79.

Bo Diddley Suffers Heart Attack

The 78-year-old rock ‘n’ roll pioneer was listed in stable condition at a Florida hospital Tuesday after suffering a heart attack, according to his publicist, Susan Clary.
Diddley reportedly complained of dizziness and nausea Friday during a routine medical checkup and was taken to North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainsville, near his hometown of Archer.
