Online purchase of 3121 fragrance to benefit several organizations.

Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics, the company behind Prince’s new fragrance 3121, has announced a 24 hour online philanthropic event to coincide with its July 7th launch in all Macy’s stores and his previously-reported in-store concert in a Minneapolis Macy’s.

      Visitors who log on to http://www.3121Perfume.com on 07/07/07, from 12 a.m. - 11:59 p.m., will have the opportunity to purchase the 3121 30 ml bottle for $31.21. Seven percent of each sale will be divided among seven charities chosen by Prince and Revelations.

      “Our goal is to raise a half million dollars for charity,” said Larry Couey, President of Revelations. “Prince has always been generous and this is an opportunity for the public to join him in giving back in a very large and meaningful way.”      

Participating charities include:

• City of Hope (http://www.cityofhope.org), a research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases.

• Jazz Foundation of America (http://www.jazzfoundation.org), which provides emergency funding and assistance to musicians.

• Helping and Loving Orphans (H.A.L.O.) (http://www.bettytisdale.com), dedicated to bettering the lives of orphans and at-risk children around the world.

• Elevate Hope Foundation (http://www.elevatehope.org), a group sponsored by Sheila E that provides abused and abandoned children an alternative method of therapy through music and the arts.

• Urban Farming (http://www.urbanfarming.com), founded by singer/songwriter, Taja “Love is Contagious” Sevelle to eradicate hunger by using abandoned land for food and alternative energy.

•  The Bridge (http://www.bridgeforyouth.org), which works to  ensure a safe and enriching environment for youth in crisis by providing shelter, building life skills, and assisting families in conflict.  

• Edith Couey Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund (info@revelationsperfume.com), established in recognition of the volunteering and services that Edith Couey provided to over 20 programs in the Cadott community since the 1940’s.

- More Prince news. Why not? He’s keeping very busy these days. I haven’t seen this much publicity for Prince since he tried to leave Warner Brothers.
