Ultimate Breaks & Beats
The first batch of UBB instrumentals was a hit, so here’s a huge second helping! Like the first volume, volume 2 features no edits or computer trickery - just straight-up funk tracks recreated live by a tight group of UK musicians (lead by Mr. Chop) so the sound quality is pretty darn close to the OG (if not cleaner!). You should be familiar with most of these as they are classic jams that have been sampled by numerous hip-hop joints. Check the new instrumental versions of “Give It Up Turn It Loose,” “Sport,” “Different Strokes,” “Hand Clapping Song,” “It’s My Thing,” “T Plays It Cool,” You Got What I Need,” and “Rock Creek Park.” A gold mine for produers looking for clean samples and drums. 14 tracks total.

Fabolous
Loso’s Way
After nearly one full decade at the absolute pinnacle of the rap game, Desert Storm/Def Jam artist Fabolous will deliver the most personal, confessional album of his career when LOSO’S WAY arrives in the physical and digital marketplace on July 28th. The new album provides an intimate glimpse into the rise of the Brooklyn-born rapper, one of today’s most important and controversial players, exploring the perils that come with managing the transition from a street life to one of legitimacy.
Underscoring the autobiographical portrait of LOSO’S WAY is Fab’s first long-form video project, a 30-minute film to be released in conjunction with the album. Several trailers from the film have been released, creating a huge buzz for the project online. Known for keeping his personal life separate from his rap career, Fab was inspired by Carlito’s Way (Al Pacino), as he told SOHH.com recently: “I think we had some similarities. Carlito was a street dude trying to make the transition from the streets to something better. That’s where I felt I was at….transitioning from the streets to a hip-hop artist.”
In advance of LOSO’S WAY, two singles are building simultaneously at radio: “Throw It In The Bag” featuring fellow Def Jam artist The-Dream (produced by Tricky Stewart) was #1 Most-Added at Rhythm formats; and “It’s My Time” featuring brand new Def Jam artist Jeremih (produced by the Runners) is currently exploding at the Urban format.

Kristinia DeBarge
Exposed
2009 debut album from the R&B vocalist first featured on the 2003 American Idol spinoff, American Juniors. Kristinia is no stranger to the music business. She’s the daughter of ’80s pop star James DeBarge but her road to a record deal was not handed over to her without patience, perseverance and hard work. Kristinia grew up listening to strong female vocalists like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and the Supremes but she credits Rock artists like Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and even Queens Of The Stone Age as some of her influences. Kristinia has a personal connection to each of the songs on her album. They either tell a story about her life or delve into an emotion she’s experienced. The smash single ‘Goodbye’, which samples Steam’s 1969 hit ‘Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye’, has also been used in television ad campaigns, helping to push sales of the single over 300,000 in less than two months.
