Lil Wayne has been hit with a $1 million lawsuit from a woman who claims she was trampled during his concert at Morgan State University after he tossed money into the crowd.
Tyrique Layne says the rapper caused a mini-riot when he began to make it rain over the audience. Layne, who was injured along with two other women, says she suffers from headaches, memory, loss, fatigue and neck and back pain.
As previously reported, police had considered charging Lil’ Wayne for causing pandemonium during the Oct. 19 show, but officials at Morgan State University instead chose to permanently ban the rapper from performing on campus.
“It was as dangerous a thing to do as standing in a crowded movie theater and shouting, ‘Fire,’” said Morgan State University spokesman Clinton Coleman.
Laynes lawsuit was filed Aug. 28 and names as defendants Wayne, Cash Money Records, Universal Records and the artists touring company, Young Money Touring.
