C-Murder’s Bid To Attend Pimp C’s Funeral Denied

Rapper C-Murder, currently on house arrest in Louisiana awaiting retrial for murder, was denied his request to attend funeral services for rapper Chad “Pimp C” Butler yesterday in Texas, reports Allhiphop.com.

C-Murder, whose real name is Cory Miller, asked a judge for permission to drive to Port Arthur so that he could pay final respects to Pimp C, who was found dead in his Los Angeles hotel room on Dec. 4. C-Murder also requested time to see his three children during the trip.

Prosecutors objected to the rapper’s requests, noting that Judge Martha Sassone of Louisiana’s State District Court had already let the rapper attend promotional appearances, family gatherings, a funeral and a book signing last May.

C-Murder’s legal team has filed a motion to dismiss the murder case, which is scheduled to be retried in February. The artist is charged with the 2002 murder of a 16-year-old teen inside of a nightclub. A ruling on the defense’s motion to dismiss could come in late January.
