Angelo Ellerbee has contacted EUR Gospel/EURweb.com to respond to Juanita Bynum’s publicist, Amy Malone, for statements made in the 02-11-08 EUR Gospel edition regarding “a request from Bishop Weeks‘ uncle, Bishop Leo Smith, to speak at his conference in Barbados this June.”
Below is Angelo Ellerbee’s full response/rebuttal statement:
“In response to Amy Malone’s (of GIC Public Relations) statement on behalf of Dr. Juanita Bynum with regard to my client Bishop Weeks, I feel it is very important that the truth be released, for it is no longer on strike. As Bishop Weeks goes through these trials and tribulations of martial discord with his estranged wife Dr. Juanita Bynum, please let the record reflect that the statement made by Dr. Juanita Bynum’s publicist Amy Malone on EURweb on Friday, February 8th implies that the Weeks family does not stand 100 percent behind Bishop Weeks.
The invitation given to Dr. Juanita Bynum to speak at a conference in Barbados was confirmed approximately 3 years ago in July of 2005 after she and Bishop Thomas Weeks completed a conference in the area. This is something that Dr. Juanita Bynum committed to in the early stages of her marriage to Bishop Thomas Weeks.
With regard to her acceptance of an alleged invitation from Bishop Thomas Week’s grandfather to attend a two-day prayer revival in Boston, let it be known the invitation was actually extended to her through Gwendolyn Weeks, Bishop Thomas Weeks‘ aunt. Bishop Thomas Weeks‘ grandfather is no longer pastor of the church and was not informed of Dr. Juanita Bynum’s participation.
In addressing the media as Bishop Thomas Weeks‘ publicist, I am a firm believer (as his followers would agree) that he is a true man of the cloth and speaks the word of God, and for that I’ am grateful that he is indeed speaking. The truth will not be on strike forever and will unmask itself sooner than anyone can believe.
I hope again that this line of communication gives clarity, but more importantly conveys to the reader that the Weeks family members are starch supporters and stand firmly behind Bishop Thomas Weeks.”
