Beyonce served as the headlining act for the 2013 Made In America Festival. In a festival curated by her husband (Jay Z) and featuring top artists from diverse music genres, it was apparent that Beyonce stood as the biggest star of the evening. Her faithful followers, known as the BeyHive, came in droves to witness Beyonce work her magic on stage.
Shorty after 10:30 p.m., Beyonce appeared on the dimly lit stage and stood still for 20 seconds. Her die-hard following cheered relentlessly as she absorbed their energy. Backed by an all-female band, Beyonce opened with “Run The World” and “End of Time.”
Beyonce left the stage for the first of six wardrobe changes and returned in all-black. She performed “If I Were A Boy” and encouraged the crowd to yell, “Hey, Mrs. Carter” before going into “Get Me Bodied.” Beyonce dutty wined in a manner that would put Miley Cyrus’ twerking to shame while singing “Baby Boy.”
Beyonce exited the stage for another wardrobe change and returned in a white lingerie-like outfit for “Naughty Girl” and “Party.” She left the stage for five minutes and allowed the France born Les Twins to perform a solo dance routine.
Beyonce returned with a classical pianist in tow who assisted as she performed “1+1″ and “Irreplaceable.” Jay Z’s voice could be heard on the intro of “Crazy In Love” and caused fans to speculate if he would perform; however, he never appeared, reassuring that the night belonged to Beyonce.
Smoke filled the stage and gold glitter blew on the crowd as she performed her biggest hit, “Single Ladies.” She closed with a rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and “Halo.”
