Who would you drop? Matt Cain or Greg Smith? - Urban Music 2000 Forums

I am going to pick up Kerry Wood, but I need to drop a starter-either Matt Cain or Greg Smith. There actually hasn't been that big of a difference between the two, but it seems like Smith has thrown better and has the better team. I haven't been impressed by Cain, but I only see his stats not actual games. Can Smith sustain this? Who would you drop?

Tough, but Cain seems to get no support. I have him in several leagues. Give Smith a chance. I am.

Drop Smith. Cain will get you Ks and will come back after struggling.

Cain isn't getting any breaks this year...I would have dropped him long before now

I would certainly keep Smith instead since he still has an ERA in the 3's.. But not because Smith is great by any means..just that Cain isn't really that good in my opinion. Career record of 24-32. Face it.. his best season is a 13-12 year 2 years ago before he went just 7-16 last year.

Drop Cain and do it quickly.. Wood is a big closer in Free Agency and the cubs are winning a lot of games.
