Where do you stand on Open relationships/marriages?

Let's keep the moralism outta here please. And no preaching too. First off we can't deny attraction is a problem, everybody feel it for everybody. Even loving your spouse or partner, you're still alive and has two eyes! So you can't deny that you feel attraction for beautiful people. It's just that we fight against it everyday and think that this is the best way to deal with. Will Smith were just plain honest and is dealing with it on another way. Do you think that it might work? Do you think that this is a good decision? Don't forget to think that maybe monogamy is a little more secure, clean and STD free. But how to handle boredom? And the desire to feel another person sexually. There's a lot of points to consider. Bring yours.

I think sex is for creating intimacy. So I wouldn't want an Open relationship. I don't like the idea of my spouse doing it with anyone else.

First, since these comments are derived from a British tabloid, I would approach them with caution. Will make have been speaking ironically or jokingly when he apparently made these remarks. But if the Fresh Prince really did say these things, there is a part of me that says I don't want to get bogged down in worrying about what celebrities are doing in their respective bedrooms. On the other hand, while I'm not going to dwell on what this man and his wife are doing with other people, I think that it would lessen my respect for Will and Jada, if the rumors are true. What lessons does an open marriage teach kids? Having an open marriage is selfish and shortsighted. Allowing others into one's marriage does not promote bonding between husband and wife. You're dreaming if you think that it does.

To each it's own. I'm married and for me it's out of the question. Anything that goes beyond flirting is unacceptable for me. But I think people should do whatever makes them comfortable and happy as long as it's legal and they both agree on it. I keep my nose out of other people's bedrooms.

ok IMO wjhat is mentioned in your statement is part of what wrong with ppl in marriages and relationships today.....what every thing boils down to (imo) is if you and your partner are into that kind of relationship where u BOTH think its ok to mess wit others as long as there is no emotional feeling involved than so be it.... i dont think that is a healthy relationship, bcuz if u mess with some1 enuff times u will prob get some type of feelings for that person....even if u try not to...another reason i say your statement imo is part of whats wrong with relationships and ppls thinking today is bcuz i know regaurdless of weather u r in a commited relationship or not u are going to b attracted to other ppl BUT U SHOULD have enuff self control to know where to draw the line and respect your relationship..... i dont agree with this way of thinking bcuz why b in a so called commited relationship if u cant control yourself enuff to not have to have sex with others outside your relationship?? whats the point?? why not jus b single... i also have a problem with ppl thinking this is ok bcuz it makes alotta ppl think its ok to "cheat" on their partner IF their partner thinks its ok....i dont agree...

on another note if the two ppl in the relationship think its ok then go for it.... hopefully it will be drama free and make every1 involved happy....i guess some ppl think well they are gonna cheat anyways so i might as well make it open so at least im not lied to or what not... so i guess if it works for some do it but i will never settle for this cuz its basicaly cheating with permission....what this situation and many other life issues boil down to is SELF CONTROL which many ppl are lacking in all areas today ppl are selfish and want what they want when they want it at any cost.... being board should not be an excuse for sleeping with some1 else... if some1 is board they need to find a **** hobby... and sex should not be it!!!

I think if you and your partner are both okay with an open relationship and know and understand what it is and how it works and are both willing to tell each other about the people they want to have sex with then I don't see a problem with it. It's their choice.

Me personally tho ... I couldn't do that and I wouldn't be okay with another female having sex with my man just like I know he wouldn't be okay with me having sex with another man.
