What really attracts you to Rock. - Urban Music 2000 Forums

I was wondering, what really attracts listeners to rock? What really is different and so much better then rap, country, or any other types of music. I would like to hear you opinions and I will later post mine, on why I like rock myself over other types of music.

So just post your opinion of why rock is your pick for your type of music.

For myself, I think my love of rock has to do with the time frame in which I grew up.

I discovered classic rock in high school, saw some concerts and it will always be a huge part of the soundtrack of my life, even though I've discovered that I love classical and jazz, as well.

It may sound of stereotypical but I have to say I am drawn to most rock because it is angry.

I've always wondered how one can 'mellow out' to rock. Even the rock ballads are hardcore.

I'm more into the variations of rock, like alternative, that isn't all about hard sounds and angry lyrics. That's what I'm into.
