When they escape to the mountains to where Kevin's dad lives, they have a small dog that looks almost like a shih tzu, which throughout the scene plays the unofficial door guard to Whitney Houston in the movie "The Bodyguard". What kind of dog is that?

It's a miniature German Shepherd.

JK, BTW. I don't remember, but it was a dog. Was it Moose, the Jack Russell terrier from Frasier?

Just checked on my Moose theory. Not him.
