| The title might be a little confusing so here's a breakdown of my setup and what I'm trying to do. I just moved, so I had to disconnect everything and I can't get it to work right. I did get replace the VCR, but I don't think that's the problem. I use a PS2 to play DVDs. I connect the PS2 into the AUD/VID1 Input of the VCR. Then I connect the output from the VCR to the stereo. The TV and VCR are connected through coaxial cables. The problem that I'm having is that I can only get audio out of one of my speakers. Here's what I have: On the TV there are two sets of three hookups. On the TV there are two sets of two hookups, only yellow and white. On my stereo, I have red and white (for left and right audio). I would like to have the audio through the speakers, both when I watch TV and when I watch DVDs on the PS2. Do I need to have a VCR with all three hookups? Thank you in advance. | Should work the way you have it. Have you tried swapping left and right audio outs on the VCR to see if it jumps speakers on the stereo? If so, then the problem is with the audio outs on the VCR; if not, then the problem is in the patch cord or the stereo. Sounds like your TV has a hookup for video with the same style jacks you have now. If you ran a cable from your VCR's Video Out to your TV's Video In you could get a better picture with your VCR & PSP; however, you would lose the TV speaker that way - only your stereo would play audio. | Most likely your new VCR only has a mono (single channel) audio input (the white connection) and that is why only one of the speakers "works". If you want to have sound from both speakers, even though it won't be stereo, then just get an RCA "Y" from your local Radio Shack or Walmart. It has a single RCA connection on one end and then two on the other end. Run a RCA cable from the single white connection on the VCR to the stereo, plug it into the "Y" connector, and then plug the other two ends on the "Y" connector into the red and white connectors on the stereo.
