| I need some help, this is my first install that I want to do myself and I need to know what wiring I need to get, first let me list my hardware, and a site where you can see specs: This is all going into a 2004 Ford F-150 4-door SuperCrew 4 Infinity KAPPA682.9CF Speakers To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. I think I need to start working by removing everything from the positive terminals of my battery. I am guessing that I will need a 225 amp fuse less than on wire running to my Inverter positioned less than 8” from the battery. Does anyone know what Gage wire I need to run if I am going to mount the inverter behind my rear seats? I know that just like all power wires I must run it through the firewall, behind the kick panels, under the doorsill, and behind the seats, from there I will run AC power to various positions in the truck, and to only run it only on the opposite side of the truck from where I will be running my speaker wires. I am guessing that I will need a 60watt fuse in the power wire for my PDX-4.150, run the exact same way the Inverter wire was run, but does anyone know what Gage wire I will need? Then for MRP-M350 I am guessing that I will need a 40amp fuse on a power wire running the exact same way that the previous two were run, but again, does anyone know what Gage w wire I will need? Then for my head unit, does anyone know if they make them yet, what wiring harness I will need for the AVIC-F900BT? Then for my 3 preamp outputs on my AVIC-F900BT, does anyone know how many, and what cables I need to run into each of my amps? I am guessing that I need to run normal RCA cables to each of the inputs on the opposite side of the truck where there are no cables running to the battery, but I do not know what wire I need to run to the Remote terminals, and if that single wire should go to both amps, or run 2 separate wires to each of the amps? Then for my subs, I am guessing I will need to run it in a parallel setup with 2 wires running from the positive of the amp to each of the positive terminals on the subs, and the same with the negative from the amp to each of the negatives on the subs, does anyone know what Gage wire I will need? Then back to my PDX-4.150 I will need to run wires to each of the 4 speakers from the designated speaker output channels, do does anyone know what wires I should be using? Then I am guessing I need to run Ground Wires from all of my amps to small bolts that go through holes I need to drill through the body, that have another wire that goes from under the nuts on the bolts to more bolts that go through the frame in the same way. I just don’t know what gage and how long the wires I need to run to the bolts inside the truck need to be or the ones going from the body to the frame need to be, does anyone know, or if I need special bolts, washers and nuts that will conduct electricity? Can I just run all the grounds to the same bolt and same wire and same spot on the chassis? Then I will be calking all of the places where the wires run through the firewall, and the body into the outside. After that I think I need to set the crossover levels on my amps, my question is what should I set them at? Should channel 1-4 on my PDX-4.150 all be the same? Should I have both of the filters on my PDX-4.150 be on HP? Should th the input channel setting be set to ¾? Should I set the crossover setting on my MRP-M350 to the same as my PDX-4.150? Should I set the Filter to LP? Then am I supposed to set the amp’s Gains to the lowest first. Then should I hook the positive ends of all of the battery wires back up and start my car? Then I think I need to check all of my equipment and make sure it is all powered on. Then I think I need to start increasing the gain levels on the amps little by little until I get an appropriate sound quality with the least amount of distortion at my designated maximum volume level on my head unit. From my understanding this is everything I need to do to not blow up my system/car. If I forgot something please tell me, if by reading this you think I will not be able to do the setup/hookup by myself, tell me I need to go to my local audio shop and have them do everything at a very high price. I need to know if there is/are a kit(s) that will have all the necessary wires, and everything el else that I need, or if it is cheaper to buy everything separate? Then I hope you will give me websites where I may find all of these accessories at a good price without sacrificing sound quality? Then I think I need to see if my lights dim on the base hits when running everything at my maximum level with my lights on. Should I get additional crossovers that are in addition to the ones built in to the amps? Then I think if my lights do dim, or if I go actually do install that inverter to bring my total wattage over 1000 watts, do I need to upgrade my “big 3” alternator, deep cycle battery, power and ground wires for my alternator, if so what Gage wires do I need, 00? Does anyone know if I can run one large battery wire from my battery into the cab, and T off to the amps, and inverter (when I get it)? If so what gauge should the wires be, and should there be a fuse at the battery, and at the T with the previously specified amperage rating? I think I know enough to do this myself, but if you think otherwise please tell me, or if you have some input please post it up. I wanted to be as descriptive as possible because I was hoping this can help others that are in similar situations. Finally I need to know on a rating scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, or A-F with A being the best, how sick will me system be? Thanks for any and all help you give me. Powered by Yahoo Answers |

| Honestly, by all these questions and the need for answers you may be way out of your league. Not at all meant disrespectfully by any means. Car audio when basic is quite acheivable but your system sounds like it needs expertise when coming to the install. Maybe you can do some yourself and leave the rest to an installer. Especially when you are talking about inverters etc. Having any extra current running through the firewall to power inverters etc is cause for concern, please have a qualified installer put these in as fire is a real option if the incorrect wiring or fuse set up is wrong - BOOM! Sorry again to be negative, but you may end up spending more by listening to other peoples suggestions than actually paying an installer to do it. Do not give up though sounds like you are learning more all the time. Powered by Yahoo Answers |
