Default A few questions about your favorite hip hop artist...?

I'll try to keep this organized

1. Who is your favorite hip hop artist?

2. What was the first song you ever heard by your favorite hip hop artist?

3. When and why did your favorite hip hop artist become your favorite?
My answers:

1. Mr. Lif

2. Fulcrum

3. When I Phantom came out. I could really relate to his view of society.

Chuck D

Rebel Without A Pause

When I was 12 and because I was totally blown away by the fresh rawness of their sound and what Mista Chuck had to say.

Rakim
Paid In Full in 1987 when I was like 5. I have an older brother he was 15 so I'm pretty sure I heard it back then.
1993 cuz he changed the game. I became a permanent fan when I really started listening to RHH.

1. buckshot shorty from the boot camp clik
2. it wasnt really 1 song but a whole album (enta da stage, 1993) but hears some of my favorite singles:
"Who Got Da Props?", "How Many MC's..."/"Ack Like U Want It", "I Got Cha Opin (Remix)", "Buck Em Down (Remix)"
3. he became my favorite bcuz i grew up in NYC around alotta west indian ppl so i loved ragaae and soca, and the boot camp clik was one of the 1st who started incorperating "regaae slang/west indian slang" (besides krs the orginal) into their music and i loved it.... plus buckshot said he would never sell out to the record industry and he never has so his style is always raw and ill.... guess thats why alotta ppl are not up on him or the whole boot camp clik... too bad ppl r missin out

KRS-1

Poetry

Because I'd never heard anyone rhyme and sound as educated and knowledgeable as he had. Then the fact that he was from The Bronx, sealed the deal.

Though KRS-1 is considered old school, in 2008, there still arent many rappers who could even come close to his lyrical skill-

1. Blackalicious

2. A2G.

3. Probably when they released Blazing Arrow. Up to that point I started losing faith in hip hop. It seemed that even the artists that I respected weren't coming as strong as they had previously. Blazing Arrow restored my faith in the creativity and artistry of hip hop.
