    Default >>Jazz Dancing<< Beginners. Tips?

Hi, I'm 14 years old and I really want to start Jazz dancing. I'm not as thin as most dancers are. I've never even really done any real dancing classes except for Tap when I was, like, 6 years old. And dancing at school in year 7 (1st form/grade). I wouldn't know where to start. So has anyone got any tips, like what type of class I should start first, or whatever?
    Thank-you
    xx

You can do anything you can put your mind to. Im not thin either, actually I probably weigh twice as much as your average ballerina, but im still good at what I do. If I were you Id take some ballet and tap along with your jazz. Or just simply take jazz.

Ballet would help strengthen your legs and help better your center balance. Also many Steps are similar in ballet as in Jazz. (didn't say the were the same just similar)

Tap would also be good to strengthen your balance and acting skills. In alot of tap dances you have to be happy happy looking acting hs a good part in dance also.

Any who, break a leg and remember dont give up and keep trying.
