MTV VMA viewing party?

I'm supposed to be going to New York this coming weekend and going to the MTV VMA viewing party. What exactly IS that? I mean, a pre-party? Will I see celebrities? And WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

I'm supposed to be going to that also.. I won a trip through my radio station, and in the packet i got it said to wear appropriate indoor attire? i'm not sure what that entails...or really anything else about the trip ha.
