I have seen the movie twice and loved it on both occassions. It is an excellent film.

The saddest part is tough to say, there were so many emotional scenes, I guess the saddest was Rocket's brother's death

I have seen several other Brazilian films. Some of the best include:

O Pagador de Promessas (1962)
Pixote (1981)
O Quatrilho (1995)
Central Station (1999)


The director of City of God, Fernando Meirelles also directed the film "A Constant Gardner" with Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz which is also excellent.

classic movie, one of hte best of the last 10 years. saddest part was where lil ze forced the little kid to choose between getting shot in the hand or foot. havnt seen many other brazilian films tho so cant say
