Emo jeans: Skinny mens jeans or womens jeans?

I'm going for the emo style look. I've been wondering which types of jeans are best to get and whether to get skinny jeans that are made specifically for men...or get womens jeans instead. Also, where's the best place to find skinny men's jeans?
