I feel confident that I have what it takes to be a successful model. I'm 5'11 (or taller) , skinny, and have super long legs! Im 15 and I've never done it before because my mom tells me I need to pay to get in. Sadly we can't afford it :( Can someone reccomend me to an agency that's free and will pay me to model for them?? I figure that since I may have all the qualities, I should look into it. One of my greatest fears is getting in contact with the wrong agency..HELP!!

I am looking within the range of San diego. So where can I go? How do I get started? And why am I the tallest girl in school?? Just kidding. But if anyone could provide me with accurate information that would be great! Thank you!

Its actually very rare to find an agency that will pay for your book i.e. professional photographer, makeup, creation of our portfolio com p cards etc.

You need to give them the money as they will know a really good photographer and make up artist that will produce the right kind of photographs that will get you work.

google agencies in San Diego and look at the girls on their books and what kind of photos they have. Because you are tall you will be able to do high fashion/catwalks so dont go with an agency that just does commercial. Well you can but fashion pays better and more chance for international travel.

Be prepared for rejection though. Everyone gets rejected even the hottest of the hot its advertising and you need to be what they want. You will have to go to more castings and get rejected than you will jobs.

Personality is equally important in modelling as looks.

Good luck!

Begin by signing up on To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

That way you can schedule shoots with photographers and put together a good portfolio. You cannot get an agent without a good portfolio.

Be careful about scheduling shoots, though, and ALWAYS have your mom go with you. Good luck :)

Ok Don't listen to these people who have answered ^^^

If you find a good agency you should not have to pay upfront eg: £300 for Portfolio and shots- you will have to pay but only as soon as you start working a good agency will never ask you to pay to be signed to their books. Never pay upfront.

Go to the website To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. and go onto agencies - this will list all of the reputable and trust worthy agencies in your area. So basically just email or post them a couple of pictures head shots and a full length shot, with your key details height, age, eye colour, bust, waist and hip measurements and a brief paragraph about you such as if you are at school, what your hobbies include.

If they like you they will ask for you to go into the agency and see if they like your personality and see how you photograph.

Some agencies also offer walk ins (which are better than sending info in) you can find out on their website or by ringing up if they do this. Basically you just go in a certain time and they meet you and see if you are suitable- it saves alot of time and wondering whether they like you plus they can offer you tips and suggest other agencies.

5,11 is the perfect height really - if not too tall for some agencies - so literally just apply to as many as possible.

Good luck
