That's a BOLD assumption about ALL "poor people" in anywhere... and even Chicago. I BET you don't even KNOW FIVE people who live in the "projects"..

I don't know ANY poor people with "Nikes"....

That's like me seeing WHITE kid from the trailer park with a fancy bicycle.... and I'm like.... There are NO poor white people because I saw a trailer park white kid with a bicycle....

Because Nike's cost about $85 bucks now and cell phones are pay as you go. No credit needed, no large amounts of money. If someone makes $8/hr, they can eventually save up to buy themselves something nice. That doesn't mean they have good credit, access to credit and can qualify to buy anything of substantial appreciating value. You may think their priorities are misplace, and you may be correct, however, not all who live in the projects are wearing brand new Nikes, and I'm pretty sure they're using pre pay or stolen cell phones ****, the shoes could've "fallen off the container" at the docks or maybe their Korean knock offs....you'll never know.
