Why does Oprah struggle with her weight so much? Is it for ratings or real?

I understand that people have weight problems, but I don't get why Oprah does because she's so rich that I would think she could afford to either have the world's best team of weight management specialists working around the clock to motivate and help keep her thin and cook her delicious, healthy food OR have weight loss surgery like Star Jones.

Does she have a health problem that makes it hard for her to lose it/
I respect her struggle and don't mean to criticize. It's just that I too struggled with my weight and I don't have a tenth of Oprah's money or resources, but I was able to lose and keep off 60 lbs.

She has a thyroid condition that makes it very hard to lose weight and keep it off. Money doesn't factor into these kinds of problems.

Will power. Money and fame cannot buy will power. Look at the celebs who got addicted to drugs. I know I eat when under stress, I would think that Oprah does the same. It's no secret that many people eat under stress. Good for you that you've got will power to keep the weight off, you are strong!

Weight issues have a lot to do with self control and your mental outlook. Oprah has a hectic life that doesn't always allow her to treat herself "well" despite her money. I myself have struggled with weight issues and I know how to lose weight but I don't always find myself following what I know is best. Why? Because life is stressful and food is comforting. Oprah is human like the rest of us and I applaud her for coming out and saying she's having a problem. She's keeping it real.
