She went to court and won. That was many years ago, where do you live?

In 1996, Oprah did a show about mad cow disease, which is spread by cows being fed dead cow parts, a common practice in the beef industry. On the show, Oprah said she would never eat another hamburger.
Beef stocks fell the next day.
A group of Texas cattlemen filed suit against her, her production company, and an expert she had on the show. They claimed the statements made on the show were knowingly false, and that she was responsible for the beef stock fall.
She went to court in Texas and was acquitted.
Since then, 13 states have passed laws against people who expose unsafe and unhealthy factory farm and slaughterhouse practices. These so-called "food disparagement" laws make it a crime to criticize food and how it is produced.
