I recently watched the top 10 male singers on VH1 Classic and here is the list:
10. Axl Rose - Guns N' Roses
9. David Lee Roth - Van Halen
8. Prince
7. Steve Perry - Journey
6. Mick Jagger - Rolling Stones
5. Bono - U2
4. Roger Daltrey - The Who
3. Rod Stewart
2. Freddie Mercury - Queen
1. Robert Plant - Led Zeppelin

I was really shocked to not see Jim Morrison on it, he deserved a spot. Also, personally, I feel John Fogerty and Chris Cornell would be good contenders for a spot on that list. Do you think the list is right on, who would you take off of it, who should have been on it?
I do also agree, as you can tell from my display name, Lennon and McCartney should have been on there too.

Their list is decent. Conventional, but strong.

I would throw in:
- Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
- Chris Martin (Coldplay)
- Liam Gallagher (Oasis)
- Michael Stipe (R.E.M.)
- Paul McCartney
- Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets)

I'd take DLR and Steve Perry off, and add Dylan and Van Morrison. As much as his voice has been criticized, Bob Dylan has a great rock and roll voice and one that is enormously influential.
edit: Also, if they want any respect at all, they should add Little Richard

Why does VH1 even bother making lists anymore?

The fact that Michael Jackson isn't on this list pisses me off. And what about Stevie Wonder? Luther Vandross? MAURICE WHITE, for God's sake?

Everybody on that list is white, but Prince. And even THAT'S debatable. LOL!

I'm assuming this is only--what, classic rock?

Otherwise Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye should be on that list. Everyone else---other than Plant and Mercury is exchangeable. I'd also add Redding, Elton John...

I'll think on it some more and edit.

***I'd also add Michael Stipe, Jeff Buckley, and consider Sting--though I seriously doubt I'd put him in my top ten...

I agree to a point, I would have had Steve Perry as my #1, because he could rock but he was able to actually sing, long beautiful notes, he could have sang any genre if he wanted.

Actually they are all great singers on that list, but you also mention a few great singers not on that list, maybe they should have made it the top 25 or 50 best male singers.
Here are a couple I'd like to see on there but at the same time I would not want to take anyone off. Burton Cummings, Bryan Adams, Stevie Windwood, and so many more. Good Question, Thank You.

I am not a big believer in list. My musical taste change and vary but I could do without number 7 and 2. I was a Journey fan for their first two albums without number 7 and have never liked Queen. I would pick number 3 off the list if I had to.
