Yes, his performance even out did the leading character. He was creepy, humorous and crazy all in one and that is very hard to find in actors these days, such diversity is just amazing to see at work in such a huge franchise.

Im not in the least bit a fan of deceased actors and/or music artists to recieve an award such as the Oscar. It usually seems like their passing is the only reason for them getting it. As far as Heath Ledger, he definately deserves it. The performance was immaculate, in my opinion, his portrayal of the Joker was exactly what it should be! "Experts" say he probably won't deserve to win the Oscar, maybe their not so "expert" afterall.

YES! at first (before i saw the movie) i thought, oh they're just saying that because he died... then i saw the movie and I was just blown away! his performance was absoultly amazing and totally shined over everyone else. everytime he was on screen i got goosebumps; he was that good. ugh... i just can't stop talking about his performance; it's definatly one to go in the books. =)
