i heard he was so scared of his own character he couldn't sleep at night so he had to take sleeping pills and i guess he took too many and thats how he died. its really sad. he was an amazing actor and he deserved better. rip heath

Heath did a lot of research for his role as the Joker. He read up on a lot of psychopaths, locked himself in a dark room to get the right voice, mannerisms and laugh to make the character perfect. But he also had a lot going on. He wasn't able to see his daughter everyday like he had before and he Michelle split up. That on top of other things in his life made it hard for him to sleep. He received medication to help him and instead of following the directions on how to take them he took too many and he accidentally overdosed.

his charector in the dark knight really messed with him and with all the preparation he did like locking himself up im a hotel for a month gave him insomnia. he took a sleeping pill it didnt work so he took some more. they also found that he was on a number of anti deppresants and anti stress pills he also had some pain releiver in his system. it was the mixter of all of this that killed him. it was an accedental overdose he was not an addict.
