Well, that's just a make-up job.

I think it was the best movie Heath Ledger was ever in.

First one:
"You wanna know how I got these scars? My father was a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not one bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says, 'Why so serious?' Comes at me with the knife, 'Why so serious' Sticks the blade in my mouth 'Let's put a smile on that face'. And...Why so serious?"

Second one:
"You look nervous. Is it the scars? You wanna know how I got them? Com'ere, look at me, look at me! See, I had a wife. And she was beautiful. Like you. scars? if you mean as the joker, its prostetics and makeup. heath ledger didnt have scars. but if you mean the joker having scars? the joker thinks one story is boring, so he tells several to make it playful. nobody knows how he got the scars.


i think heath ledger was the most gorgeous man ever, and i think that has something to do with me thinking the jokers sexy. youre not alone!

He has the scars because someone (I don't know if it was him or someone else) cut slits on his mouth so that now he's "Always smiling."

He has the scars because in the movie he refrences them to his father cutting him and saying why so serious while he cut his mother or that his girlfriend got surgery so to make her feel better he cut himself but I dont think we really know!!
And ya of course everyone thinks the joker is hot because its heath ledger and we all know that so we love him anyways haha!!

Did you see the movie???

The first story in the movie is about his dad getting drunk. His mom then picks up a knife to defend herself and his dad beats her. The Joker is then crying/frowning/unhappy. His dad then sticks the knife in his mouth and says lets put a smile on that face.

The second story in the movie involves his wife owing the mob some money. She doesn't pay up so they give her the scars. He then says that he can't stand to see her so sad. He then takes a razor blade and moves it from one check to the other. His wife then left him because of the scars.

In the comic's he falls in a vat of chemicals. There are also other variations.

There is actually no correct origin story for the Joker.

he "explained" in two stories...One his father gave them to him because he cam home one night drunk and the other he did himself because his wife had scars and he did not want her to feel alone.
