Why does everyone want to replace Heath Ledger as the Joker?

I'm not saying that Heath Ledger is the greatest actor and that he is the only one capable for the role, but it was his last performance before he died. I don't think Nolan would replace Ledger or use the Joker again, I mean there are other great Batman villains they can use (The Riddler, Talia al Ghul, Black Mask, The Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, Two-Face, etc.) Why do they need to reuse the Joker? I just think it would be disrespectful for them just to replace the man's best role in his entire career.

People look at how the joker and batman need eachother. They always will be fighting eachother. I agree also that it would be disrespectful to replace Heath in his best role in his career. I dont think they should bring the joker back in the next movie. I wouldnt be upset if they did, but I would like to see how they can make other villians.
I think they should put in the Riddler, so they wont really need the joker since they are both very close in character.

It would be a debacle. The movie would become a joke, like when they made the Crow II with a different actor. If they do it, they can only show some footage left over with Ledger from the first one. Maybe work it into a death scene for the Joker using some CGI.

But personally, I wouldn't even mention the Joker in the sequal(s).

I just think that people love the character. It's truly unfortunate that Heath Ledger is dead. He was absolutely perfect, and there will be none like him.

i totally agree although it was not his last preformance, he was filming another movie called The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. but i totally agree no one could ever do half as good as heath. he was an amazing actor. and if they try and replace him, i might not go see the next movie. but thats just me

i know exactly what u mean..and ur right. Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar award for his amazing performance in Dark Knight, not just because he passed away, but he did an amzing job! he also looks very good as the joker, and i dont think any other actor would have made it as good as he did. (he looked extremely hot too! )
i've been so obssesed with this batman series and was sooo excited to see this movie, i was not let down at all! i saw it the day it came out, the movies was packed!!! i never seen a movie in theaters more than once, but im actually thinking and most likely going to see it again this week! <3
