what happened to the joker in the end of the movie? all i remember was him hanging off a building. did the cops arrest him? did he die? or was he just hanging there? please tell

the swat team caught him and took him to jail. heath was going to be in the next film so they left it open. unfortunatley he passed away monthes before the dark knight. i will be extremley angry if they try to replace him because no one could even come close to his preformance. i wish they could have concluded it better though.... because he has escaped from jail before what makes this time any diffrent. i wish the ending was better but i will not go see the next one if they try to replace him. hope i helped

He didnt die. He gave a speech about him and Batman. and scince Batman doesnt kill, he left him hanging there. Seconds later, the SWAT team showed up and then it switched the shot. Asuming that he was captured.

Batman left him hanging there so the swat team can get him,
meanwhile commissioner Gordon left to go find his family,and batman went after Gordon ,come to find out Harvey(two face)dent had is family hostage .where Rachel Dawes died ,
so Dent Had commissioner Gordon"s son at gun point and asked him "have you ever listen to your love one die?" then batman comes and dent shoots batman .but of course batman has bulletproof armor and knocks dent and commissioner Gordons son off the building. batman throws up commissioner Gordons son ,and batman falls to the ground and then ,commissioner Gordon go down to see batman and then batman wakes up and tells commissioner Gordon that if anyone knows that dent killed three cops ,all the people who dent put away in jail will be released ,so batman said he killed all those cops and

the end.

He was arrested Heath Ledger was supposed to make another apperance at the end of the movie but he died!

supposedly he got arrested..but knowing him, u know he got away =]]

he finished the movie and was already filming another movie.. jeez guy.. gets ur facts straight!
