yes he deserves it all. he did an AMAZING job playing the joker. i saw the movie the other day, and wow. he put so much effort into playing the joker, to be honest, you couldn't tell it was him. i'm sure his family will get the oscar if he does win(which he will) but yeah, go see it, you'd be shocked on how good he did.

While it's debatable that Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker, I say he does. Having said that, he may not even get nominated because "The Dark Knight" came out in the summer, and the movies that usually get the nominations and win the big awards mainly come out in the winter.

He did an amazing job with this movie. And having known him I know the potential he had to only get better. If it was being decided right now I would say yes for sure...but its too early to tell for sure if their won't be a better performance by someone else later. He wouldn't have wanted it if he wasn't the best.
