I have been a fan of Heath Ledgers since 10 things i hate about you, and i really appreciated his acting ability with Brokeback Mountain, and he did the most amazing job in the Dark Knight. When I first heard the news that he passed, I was so shocked and sad. It's weird because I haven't ever been a huge fan of any other actor, with the exception of Johnny Depp, so I am pretty surprised on how much his death has effected me. He was just getting started, he wanted to direct films, and he had so much potential to be one of the greats. Is anyone else still really sad that his life came to such an early end? When I read facts about him on IMDB, he really does sound like he was an amazing actor, but also an amazing person. It's just such a huge loss!
Also, can anyone think of any actors that are Heath's age that can even come close to him in terms of talent? I cant.

James Dean was also very talented and was 24. John Belushi was a comedic genius and died at the age of 33. Rudolph Valentino was one of the first leading actors in the history of hollywood and was only 31 when he died.
I think Heath's death is a tragedy. I am not devastated because I've never met him, but it is a shame.

Honestly, I didn't give a **** when Heath died in January. I had never seen Ten Things I Hate About You or Brokeback. Since seeing the Dark Knight, however; my perception completely changed. As soon as the movie ended, I had a sinking sensation in my stomach. Wishing that he could still be around to continue his masterful acting ability. Since seeing the Dark Knight, I have gone back and watched 10 things I hate about you and brokeback, and the patriot, and I have become a huge fan. He was a phenomenal talent, and I am equally as sorry to see him go.

There's no point being sad about it. That's not what he would even want anyway. Appreciate him for the great actor he was.

I was shocked when I found out he died. I remember I was looking something up on my phone, and a big headline read, "Death of Ledger," and I literally did a double take. I followed the story in the newspaper and I was freaked out when people thought that he commited suicide. He didn't seem the type (although... I didn't really know him).
The issue is coming back up now because of the Batman movie he was in. It's all over the place again.
