I think it would still be huge because it's pretty kicka#$ anyway compared to all the other crap out now. But the incident did help out, I mean you feel almost obligated to see it. Compared to the other batman movies, it's untouchable, though I did like the original Keaton batman movie.

Probably not, especially when people like to connect his death with his role as joker in the movie.
But still, it’s a great movie!

I think it would still be pretty huge...even if Heath Ledger was still alive... The Batman movies are always awesome.

Heath Ledger did not die while he was making this movie...
His final performance was a film which has yet to be completed , " The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus "...

In fact- not just one - but three well known actors took over the final scenes in the movie so it could be completed..
Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell

"The Dark Knight" would have just as easily took the top spot for Summer Blockbuster even if Heath had not passed on.... You have to realise that the build-up for Heath's outstanding performance had long been anticipated months before his tragic death.... not only that - but the sequel to Christian Bale's performance from "Batman Begins" was on all the fanboys lists long before Heath was ever chosen....

The tragedy that befell the movie had a part in bringing about those that might not have been interested its true - and no one could have ever guessed that it would be on the brinks of topping the all-time highest grossing film "Titanic" ... but Heath put everything he had into his portrayal and it serves as a fitting tribute

i think it may have influenced it a bit but then you've got the other factors like the fact that he is amazing in it. whether did or alive that doesn't change the fact that he was brilliant. batman begins was very popular and so people would have seen it because of that. then you've got bif stars like gary oldman. it has a lot of appeal for a superhero movie. the eccentric approach to it making it as realistic as possible is i think what is making this movie franchise incredible. i am very sad that heath died because he should be here living in the glory of this wonderful performance although i doubt he would have liked all the press. he never liked it much
