SO many ppl are saying that only reason ppl are talking oscar and saying how good he was is cuz of the situation and that makes me SO mad. like wtf! have they not seen the movie! he was AMAZING in it! what do you guys think?

I don't think it's because he's dead. His portrayal of the joker was fabulous. I think he probably would have gotten some of the hype (probably not as much) if he were still alive.

Non Batman fans have gone to see it just because he's dead. As for his performance, Heath was great and that's the real loss.

He has changed the persona of the joker forever. It makes me mad too..he deserves the oscar for his acting how can people say it's a sympathy oscar. Gah! The dark knight is the best movies i have ever seen esp with heath as the joker, i didnt think he had it in him to be so dark. I think that's probably why he was on those sleeping pills, he had to live for months as that insane joker...alll day long..he should have been asleep as soon as he hit the sack. I don't believe christian bale when he said it had nothing to with the dark character heath was playing.

Nope. I don't. He was really good in it. And he was nominated for an Oscar when he was alive.

I've never seen him in a bad role. Honestly.

Well, honestly he's getting SO MUCH MORE hype is because he's dead. Even non-batman fans want to see the movie because of Heath, and because of the situation. If he was still here today, then he would get praised (definitely), but it wouldn't be as much.
I'm not really in favor of that, though, coz' he SHOULD get praised for his talent and performance, and not for the situation. :)
